Trolley Services in Portsmouth

COAST operates the Downtown Loop, but there are several other trolley options.

COAST's Downtown Loop service operates every half-hour from Market Square on the route shown at right.

COAST also operates two year-round trolley routes through the city: The Pease Tradeport Trolley (COAST route 40) and the Lafayette Road Trolley (COAST route 41).

There is also seasonal trolley tour service provided by our friends at Seacoast Trolley. The Seacoast Trolley company is NOT affiliated with COAST. Seacoast Trolley service operates through to Rye, NH.

To our knowledge, there is no service at this time connecting to Hampton Beach, nor is there connecting service to Kittery, York, or other points in Maine.

COAST trolleys are NOT available for private tours, charters, weddings, or other special services, because we are a federally-supported public operation. For such services, you should contact the Seacoast Trolley company.

Downtown Loop has ended for the season. Thanks for a great summer! Are you looking for our year-round trolley routes?

The Downtown Loop Trolley provides efficient service around downtown Portsmouth between free parking and the historic sites of New Hampshire's port city. The Downtown Loop departs Market Square every half hour from 10:30AM to 2:30PM and 3:00PM to 5:30PM, 7 days a week. Service operates June 26th through August 29th, 2010. Have any questions? The fare for the Downtown Loop is just 50 cents! (Half-fare policies apply)

Service operates seven days a week, but there is NO service on Sunday, July 4th, 2010.
