Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation, more commonly known as COAST, is celebrating its 40th year of providing service. Since delivering its first passenger in 1982, COAST has given 15.6 million rides to people in the Greater Seacoast region, affordably linking them with work, school, doctor appointments, shopping, and social events.

On January 3, 2022, the Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation (COAST) will ring in the 
New Year by piloting a free transfer program on fixed route buses. The pilot will run for six 
months until June 30.

At this time the Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation (COAST) has no plans to cancel or suspend service. We have the following notice regarding COVID-19 and its impact on our public transit system.

Last week was unprecedented for most, if not all, of us. We are likely all experiencing varying amounts of internal conflict and stress as we take in everything that we are hearing/seeing and then try to figure out how to best deal with. It can be overwhelming, but we must remember to stay calm and make decisions based on what we know.

COAST takes the health and safety of our passengers and staff seriously and we are monitoring the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation. As a critically important provider of public services, COAST will proceed with continued operations unless we receive a directive from government or public health officials to do otherwise. We will continue to evaluate the situation and adapt as necessary. We will communicate any changes or cancellations of COAST services immediately through social media, DoubleMap app, on our website, and through the media.
